A big congratulations to our Coca Cola Games Squad of 2015. They gave their very best and left everything on the field. Overall the boys won one gold thanks to Jone Elder who won gold in the Junior boys Javelin. He will be an athlete to watch in the future as he treads closely the footsteps of an LDS Alumni who himself was a Cokes Gold Medalist and champion javelin thrower. Today he is well known by the nick name Semi-Trailer in the NRL competition. Thanks to Jone's win, LDS were tied in 9th position with 5 other schools in the boys medal count.
The girls also won one gold, compliments of Senior girl Sera Narara who overcame some stiff challenges from her grade to scoop gold in the Senior girls High Jump. With Sera's win, the girls cemented their place in 12th position in the medal count, tied with 4 other schools. We cannot recall when a senior girl last won a Coca Cola games gold medal, which makes Sera's victory that much more special.
